I’m Alexander Horner, a software engineer based in Hamburg, Germany, studying Computer Science at Hamburg University of Technology. I work across frontend and backend and bring particularly strong frontend engineering experience. I care about clear interfaces, maintainable systems, and building complete features from requirements through implementation.

  • Frontend development of a training system for the Danish Navy, using Angular, TypeScript, deck.gl, and map-based interfaces.
  • Part of T-Systems IFS, which develops Classified IT for internal and external security and public authorities with particularly high security requirements.

Working Student, Software Engineering & IT Consulting

AKRA GmbH

  • Developed a job-matching platform for the gastronomy industry with 225,000+ users and 7,000+ employers, using Nuxt, Go, PostgreSQL, authentication, geosearch, and deployment.
  • Replaced the legacy platform and migrated hundreds of thousands of records, job postings, documents, and employer data, while redesigning workflows and improving privacy and security.
  • Took broad ownership in a small Scrum team, including frontend architecture, backend implementation, UI/UX design in Figma, and technical decisions across product areas.
  • Worked directly with the client, leading meetings independently, clarifying requirements, consulting on product needs, and carrying decisions through to implementation.
  • Developed an AI-agent prototype for an internal talent and consultant management system. Via Microsoft Teams, it conducts check-ins, extracts profile updates, and autonomously updates structured data.
